WindowsXP To Be Obsoleted

i guess most of you know that this awesome OS will soon meet it's demise by 2010.
All support will be gradually reduced by that time.

and yet, Vista is not a great replacement with all those hardware and software incompatibilities.

petitions are pouring into microsoft to at least extend WindowsXP before a replacement for Vista is available.

Yeah i heard that they will end it for us XP users, but I think they will buckle to the pressure and extend support beyond 2010 to somewhere around 2014-5.

I work in a rather large gov. dept. and I can assure you they have no intentions of changing to Vista in the forseeable future. I mean after 10 years XP still has issues, just imagine how long it will take to get Vista 'workable' and 'compatible' with the entire planet?????
