XP for everyday use is the best OS without challenge, even with the bugs that are still there that MS has failed to address.

I have a dual boot system with XP SP2 (I'm avoiding some of the things in SP3) and Vista Ultimate. For the n00bs out there I think that Ultimate is a cool OS just for being n00b friendly overall and it seems like a smooth OS, just won't let me do some of the things I want to do. I use it when I want to watch TV and general surfing.

The best advice I can give anyone is to use what they are comfortable with, but make sure you use Firefox and set your OPTIONS to clear all data when you close instead of IE7. LOTS of people get their info stolen by unfriendly people because IE7 likes to keep everything in memory. There are ways to stop this happening but the easiest way is to use Firefox.

I have been using Vista Ultimate since Nov 07 and after you turn off uac and disable dep install a ram saver do some things in group policy editor, well about 10 more tweaks it does well I think . I just upgraded to Vista Ultimate SP1 and if you had a cracked version as I did needed to do a fresh install , then install SP1 , then crack it. But thats the only bad thing I can say. Most apps that give a error that you cant run on Vista just install those in XP combat mode . I love Xoftspy SE and it would not install on vista so right click the app / properties / compatibility / run in Xp sp2 mode. works fine.
